This Privacy Policy governs how ResumeAI (operated by The Corporate Guide) collects, stores, and uses your personal data. By using this service — including uploading your resume, submitting your email, or making a payment — you explicitly agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. This policy complies with Indian data protection standards and the IT Act, 2000.

1 Who We Are

ResumeAI is a product of The Corporate Guide, an Indian career intelligence platform. Our registered contact is hello@thecorporateguide.com. We are not a recruitment agency, placement firm, or employer. We are a technology tool that analyses resumes using artificial intelligence.

2 What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Resume content — text extracted from the PDF or document you upload, including your name, contact details, work experience, education, and skills
Email address — provided voluntarily at the time of payment or sign-in, used to send your recovery code and payment receipt
Payment details — processed entirely by Razorpay. We do not store card numbers, UPI PINs, or any banking credentials
Usage data — pages visited, actions taken, device type (mobile/desktop), and general browser information via Google Analytics
Referral information — if you arrived via a partner referral link, we record which partner referred you

3 How We Use Your Data

To analyse your resume and generate your AI score, gap report, and rebuilt resume
To send your recovery code so you can re-access your paid report
To process your payment via Razorpay and send payment confirmation
To improve our AI models and service quality (data is anonymised before any internal analysis)
To track partner referrals and calculate commission earnings for our partner programme
To detect fraud and prevent payment bypass or misuse

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing purposes. Ever.

4 Resume Data — Special Notice

Your resume is processed by OpenAI's GPT API to generate the analysis. This means your resume text is transmitted to OpenAI's servers for processing. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing. We do not use your resume to train AI models. We do not share your resume content with employers, recruiters, or any third party.

Resume data is stored in our Firebase (Google Cloud) database in India/Asia-Pacific region and is retained for up to 12 months to allow re-access to your report. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us.

5 Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and local browser storage to remember your session, analysis results, and payment status. We use Google Analytics (GA4) for anonymous usage tracking. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your browsing data.

6 Data Security

We use Google Firebase with security rules to protect your data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS (SSL/TLS encryption). Payment processing is handled by Razorpay, a PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. We conduct regular security reviews of our Firestore access rules.

However, no internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted to our platform.

7 Your Rights

Access: Request a copy of your personal data we hold
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion: Request deletion of your data from our systems
Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format

9 Children's Privacy

ResumeAI is intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older and actively seeking employment. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has submitted data, please contact us immediately for deletion.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of ResumeAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
